Happy Adoption Tails – Stardust’s Peter Blue
Some puppies find their families quickly… and some leave pawprints on your heart forever before they even go home. Sweet little Peter Blue was one of those puppies.
When we first learned our precious boy might be blind, our hearts ached for him. We knew he would need an extraordinary family — one filled with patience, compassion, and unconditional love. Without hesitation, longtime SCR adopter Mike Goldberg stepped forward and shared that his family would be honored to open their hearts and home to Peter.
Then came the miracle none of us expected.
After a few more weeks of growth and development, the ophthalmologist gave the news we had all been hoping and praying for — Peter wasn’t blind after all. The joy and relief were impossible to put into words.
The Goldbergs thought about renaming him Blue, but in the end lovingly chose Peter Blue, honoring the memory and legacy of Andrea Moss’s beloved collie, Peter Rabbit. Somehow, the name fits him perfectly.
It’s safe to say this little boy captured all of our hearts a little more deeply. Maybe it was his tiny face, his brave spirit, or simply the way he reminded us how powerful love and hope can be. We know so many of you fell in love with him right along with us.
While saying goodbye is never easy, our hearts are overflowing knowing Peter Blue’s life will be filled with everything every puppy deserves — endless belly rubs, cozy snuggles, new adventures, and a family who already adores him beyond measure. We couldn’t be happier for Peter Blue, his wonderful family, and his big sister Freedom.
