We’re over the moon to share that Silka, one of the collies rescued from the Elko, Nevada hoarding situation, has found her forever home—and she didn’t have to go far!

Jeff and Margaret Sammet, new to fostering for SCR, quickly fell in love with this sweet girl and just couldn’t bear the thought of letting her go anywhere else. It was simply meant to be! Silka has officially joined their family alongside her big brother, Maverick

Great foster homes don’t come along every day, so while we’ll miss the Sammets as future fosters, we couldn’t be happier that they’ve fallen for our little Silka—aka the “fireplace dog”
